On April 9th, 2023, Raphael Halff burned his master's thesis entitled,
"Fayner's Fire: The Making of a Destructivist."

It was about the Holocaust
novelist Ka-Tzetnik 135633 who, before WWII—under his birthname,
Yehiel Fayner—published only one book of poetry: Tsveyuntsvantsik: Lider.
In 1993, he stole it from the National Library of Israel, burnt it,
and sent back the remains pictured here in the background.
When Ka-tzetnik 135633 burned his book of poetry many asked: "Why?" He never answered.
